CJ Sanders, the standout receiver from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame who faced months of coaches calling him trying to get him to change his commitment, signed on Wednesday with the University of Notre Dame. He had been committed since May 6, 2014.
"It was crazy," he said of the lobbying to change his mind. "My parents always taught me to be a man of my word. It was the perfect fit for me."
He said the recruiting was "nonstop" even though he always said he'd sign with Notre Dame.
Now he must begin shopping for winter clothing.
"I'm going to get a jacket and mittens," he said.
