Wonder Woman is getting her own movie.
"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" actress Gal Gadot will star in the film, slated for release in 2017, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced Wednesday at Time Warner's investors conference Wednesday.
Gadot, who is playing the lasso-wielding Amazon in 2016's "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," will reprise the role in a 2017 standalone film.
The Wonder Woman film is one of 10 DC Comics-based film franchises Warner Bros. has in production, including two Justice League films and movies based on the Suicide Squad, Aquaman, The Flash, Shazam, Cyborg and The Green Lantern, Tsujihara said.

After "Dawn of Justice," Zack Snyder's follow-up to "Man of Steel," opens in 3-D on March 25, 2016, fans can look forward to "Suicide Squad," directed by David Ayer ("The Fast and the Furious," "Training Day").
Also slated for 2017 is "Justice League Part 1," to be directed by Zack Snyder and starring Batman, Superman and other "well-known" characters from the DC Universe, Tsujihara said.
In 2018, Ezra Miller will star in a big-screen take on The Flash and Jason Momoa will star in an "epic underwater movie" about Aquaman. Slated for 2019 are "Shazam," starring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, and "Justice League Part 2."
A Green Lantern film and the Ray Fisher-starring "Cyborg" are planned for 2020 and beyond.
The lineup does not include standalone Batman and Superman projects, Tsujihara said.
Warner Bros. has said that film projects also are in the works for other DC and Vertigo comic book properties including "The Sandman," "Fables," "Metal Men" and "100 Bullets."
The big-screen projects are accompanied by DC's expanding roster of television series including Fox's breakout drama "Gotham," which follows Batman universe characters and focuses on Gotham City Police Department Det. James Gordon; the CW's "Arrow" and "The Flash"; NBC's "Constantine"; and "iZombie," based on the Vertigo title, set for a midseason premiere on the CW.
Other DC properties in development include "Supergirl," "Titans," "Lucifer," "Ronin," "DMZ" and "Scalped.
