A Palm Springs home once owned by Elvis Presley, currently being marketed at $2.59 million, will be sold at auction Oct. 25.
The starting bid is still to be established, said Eric G. Meeks of Team Wrubleski Meeks Realtors.
The bank-owned house, built in 1946, had been billed as Graceland West before falling on harder times.
The ranch-style home sits on 1.75 acres with panoramic mountain and desert views. The gated lot has palm trees, a kidney-shaped swimming pool and a separate spa.
The 5,040 square feet of living space include a vaulted ceiling living room with a fireplace, a dining room with a wet bar and a barrel ceiling, a 30-foot-by-50-foot entertainment room, four bedrooms and 6.25 bathrooms.
In addition to becoming a ground-shaking recording artist with such '50s hits as "Hound Dog" and "All Shook Up," Presley turned his talents to musical movies including "Love Me Tender" and "Jailhouse Rock."
He bought the property in 1970 for $105,000 from McDonald's honcho Ray Kroc. Singer Frankie Valli also owned the house, selling it in 1981 for $500,000.
The desert retreat was one of two properties owned by the King of Roll and Rock at the time of his death in 1977. He was 42.
Jeff Egan of Group Egan is the listing agent.
